Entry Formalities to Sikkim:
When you obtain an Indian visa in your country, please
insist on a Sikkim entry permit for 15 days. Kindly note that different
Indian Consulates and Embassies in different countries have varied stamps
of this. In most cases, there is a stamp which states: “Also permitted to
visit Rumtek, Pemeyangtse and Phodong in Sikkim for 15 days”. This is
stamped usually on the same page, beside the Indian Visa. This is all that
is required for you to enter Sikkim. In case you miss to get this
additional stamp on your passport, you could get it at the Sikkim Tourism
office in Calcutta, Delhi, or Siliguri ( Near the closest airport to
Sikkim) on your way to Sikkim. In such an eventuality, kindly let us know
in order for us to co-ordinate your visit to any of these Sikkim Tourism
offices. “Contact Us”. BEST leave it to us to organize for smooth entry
into Sikkim.
The trekking permits to the Dzongri - Khangchendzonga range trek, the
Singalila range trek, other restricted area trekking and tour permits like
example North Sikkim can only be obtained from Sikkim Tourism here in
Gangtok. For which, we will need :

passport size photographs in original.

Photocopies of your passport – the photograph page with details and the
Indian visa and Sikkim entry permit (if obtained) page.

will then need to send these documents to us at least 2 weeks in advance
to our postal address:

Once we receive your Passport details and your photographs, we will
process your papers with the authorities for your necessary tour and/ or
trek and intimate to you as soon as this is done.
For visiting the green Lake area, Tholung and Kisongla areas as well as
the trek between Yumthang and Lachen/ Chungthang, we will need two months
time to process your papers as these are highly restricted areas.
